Due
to technical limitations and poor environmental adaptability, the screen may
become unusable due to pollution from water droplets, dust, etc., so touch
monitors also need regular maintenance and upkeep just like ordinary machines.
Moreover, since touch monitors are highly integrated touch control all-in-one
devices combining multiple electrical equipment, certain issues should be noted
during use and maintenance:
1. Wipe the screen with a dry cloth before turning on the device every day.
2. If water droplets or beverages spill on the screen, the software will stop responding. This is because water droplets have similar properties to fingers; thus, the water droplets need to be wiped away.
3. The touch monitor controller can automatically detect dust, but excessive dust accumulation will reduce the sensitivity of the touchscreen. Simply wipe the screen clean with a dry cloth.
4. Use glass cleaner to clean fingerprints and oil stains on the touch monitor.
5. Strictly follow the power-on and power-off procedures: the order to turn on power is monitor, audio system, host. The order to turn off power is the reverse.
6. A large number of temporary files are generated on the hard disk. If the system is frequently interrupted or powered off directly without exiting Windows, hard disk errors will occur quickly. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly run ScanDisk to check for hard disk errors. It is best to set up a secret method in applications to exit applications and Windows before power failure, for example: tapping the four corners in a specified order.
7. Pure touch screen programs do not require a mouse cursor, as the cursor will only distract users' attention.
8. Choose the simplest anti-mouse mode sufficient for application use, as complex modes require sacrificing latency and system resources.
9. In Windows, when starting slower applications, users have the opportunity to enter other systems. The solution is to modify the SYSTEM.INI file: change shell=progman.exe (under Windows 3.x) or shell=Explorer.exe (on Windows 95) directly to .exe file. However, the application should be able to exit Windows directly; otherwise, the system cannot be exited.
10. Depending on the harshness of the environment, periodically open the front panel to clean the reflection stripes and inner surface of the touch monitor. The specific method is: open the cover plates on both sides inside the machine, find the mechanism to release the lock tongue securing the front part of the front panel, open the mechanism to release the lock tongue. Lift the front part of the front panel, you can see the touch screen control card, unplug the touch screen cable, pull back the front panel to remove the front panel and touch screen. After carefully observing how the touch screen is fixed, remove the touch screen for cleaning. Do not use hard paper or hard cloth to avoid scratching the reflection stripes. Finally, restore the front panel in the reverse order and original structure.
